Informasi ini mengundang seluruh peneliti,
pengguna, dosen, mahasiswa, dan pemerhati teknologi penginderaan jauh, baik yang berasal dari universitas, pusat penelitian, pusat pendidikan, lembaga pemerintah dan swasta, organisasi non pemerintah, organisasi profesi serta organisasi lainnya yang terkait dengan pemanfaatan dan penggunaan teknologi penginderaan jauh di Indonesia, untuk ikut berpartisipasi dan berkontribusi dalam penyusunan buku yang berjudul ?Bunga Rampai Penginderaan Jauh Indonesia?
Buku ini merupakan kumpulan berbagai pengalaman baik yang bersifat mendasar (fundamental), teoritis dan praktis termasuk berbagai kreatifitas dan inovasi teknologi penginderaan jauh di Indonesia untuk menyelesaikan masalah-masalah dan rekomendasi alternatif lainnya terkait dengan lingkungan, sumber daya alam, pembangunan, pengembangan teknologi, kebencanaan, fenomena cuaca dan bidang lainnya. Buku ini juga akan mencerminkan bagaimana status pemanfaatan dan pengembangan teknologi penginderaan jauh termasuk pencapaian-pencapaian yang sudah dihasilkan Indonesia.
Buku ini diharapkan akan menjadi acuan awal bagi komunitas penginderaan jauh di Indonesia dan selanjutnya akan disusun buku-buku lanjutan yang dapat dipublikasikan secara teratur sehingga masyarakat Indonesia akan lebih mudah dalam mencari dan mengetahui penerapan teknologi penginderaan jauh khususnya di Indonesia. Buku ini tidak hanya bermanfaat secara akademik tetapi juga akan menjadi salah satu titik simpul jejaring sosial komunitas penginderaan jauh di Indonesia. Pada tahun-tahun berikutnya akan kembali diterbitkan seri lanjutan dari buku yang pertama ini. Buku ini akan diedit secara profesional oleh para pakar penginderaan jauh yang berasal dari berbagai instansi/organisasi di Indonesia.

3.Tata Cara
Ada 2 tahapan yang akan dilakukan dalam proses seleksi makalah, yaitu tahapan pengiriman ABSTRAK dan tahapan EVALUASI makalah/tulisan. Bagi yang berminat dapat mengirimkan abstraknya dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris. Jika abstrak dinyatakan diterima maka tahap selanjutnya adalah evaluasi (review) makalah. Makalah ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia kecuali abstrak ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris. Evaluasi makalah dilakukan dengan cara a double-blind review basis oleh para pakar dari berbagai instansi/organisasi (Editor-in-Chief: Ketut Wikantika). Makalah yang diterima selanjutnya akan melakukan perjanjian transfer hak cipta (Copyright Transfer Agreement) seperti yang biasa dilakukan pada publikasi makalah di prosiding maupun jurnal internasional.
4.Format Abstrak
Format abstrak terdiri dari :
-Judul makalah
-Nama penulis dan organisasi/afiliasi serta alamat email
-Isi abstrak minimal terdiri dari : latar belakang, wilayah studi, data yang dipakai, metode (teknik, cara, pendekatan), hasil yang (ingin) diharapkan, dan manfaat.
-Kata kunci
-Daftar pustaka (referensi) yang akan digunakan
-Biografi ringkas penulis (penulis utama dan pendamping) termasuk foto berwarna
-Abstrak ditulis dengan huruf Times New Roman ukuran 12, judul makalah ditulis tebal (bold)

Introduction
Global and climate change phenomenon have been an important and attractive issues since the Global Change Conference 2007 in Bali. The countries of the world agree to adopt Bali Road Map as an international guidance for the agreement in the future climate change. One of the agreement points is to slow down the rate of gas emission from deforestation. Forest is one land cover that acts as the lungs of the world which must be preserved for the prosperity of human being.
At the other end, the growth of world population is an important component in land use change. As the population rises, there is a bigger need of land for settelement, agricultures, pastures and another infrastructures. These expansion will deteriorate the environment which cause land degradation. One of the example is the extensive use of land in high elevation for settlements or agricultures. These activities will end in one thing, disaster.
Population growth will surely extensive the use of land for human being. The improper and overload exploitations can result in man-made disaster. It even will have worsening effects if we add natural disasters such as earthquake, floods, landslides, volcanic eruptions, tsunami, etc. These disasters can destroy the balance between the existence and the use of land cover. It will also disharmonize the existence of human communities in certain areas.
Population growth cycle, land use ? land cover change and disaster are the characteristics of Indonesia due to its geographical uniqueness which located in tropical reqion and between two continents and two oceans. It is important to understand this characteristics through a series of scientific activities which then result in finding solution related to demography, land use-land cover and disasters.
Therefore, Remote Sensing & GIS Research Division, Faculty of Earth Science and Technology, ITB and Center for Remote Sensing ? ITB host this scientific activity with a theme ?The Third International Remote Sensing & GIS Workshop Series on Demography, Land Use-Land Cover and Disaster (IReSGISWS-DLUCD)?. The aim of this workshop is to focus the research on the use of remote sensing, GIS and spatial technology topics related to demography, land use-land cover and disaster in Asia and another countries. This activity hopefully will be participated from researchers, academics, vendors, NGO, remote sensing and spatial technology export within Indonesia or abroad.
Objective
To focus research topics on the use of remote sensing, GIS technology and other spatial technologies for demography, land use/land cover and disaster in Asia and other continents.

? Authors who wish to participate in the workshop must submit an abstract (one page only) consisting of a complete description of their ideas and applicable research results. Detailed specifications for the abstract content and format are provided below.
? The abstract is to be submitted electronically via email at office@crs.itb.ac.id. This abstract must be submitted by August 20th, 2010.
? The status of all submissions will be available on the IReSGISWS 2010 website.
? Abstract submissions will be reviewed by experts selected by the editorial board for their demonstrated knowledge of particular topics. The progress and results of the review process will be posted on this website and authors will also be notified of the review results by email no later than September 1, 2010.
? If your abstract is accepted, you may choose to submit a full paper.

Scientific Book Series
The committee will publish a book series starting from 2011 regarding the application of Remote Sensing and GIS technologies in Asian-Pasific countries. The book will be published continuously every year in English and Indonesian languages. English version will be contributed from foreign researchers while Indonesian version will be dominated by Indonesian researchers with their experiences and how the role of remote sensing and GIS in solving Indonesian problems. If you want to contribute your articles to those book series, don?t hesitate to contact the committee as soon as possible.
